It’s time for the people in Richmond Hill, and the surrounding municipalities, to get on board and support the Yonge North Subway Extension.

Our voices need to get heard.  Toronto is being vocal of their needs.  We need to be just as loud!

Signing this petition is one way way to send this message. 10,000 people signing this would be a stronger message.   100,000 would really say something. Please sign and suggest to everyone you know to do the same!

This is a multi-billion dollar project that will take more than a decade to design and build, so there is a sense of urgency. By demonstrating widespread public appeal for this critical rapid transit project, local and regional elected officials can step up their efforts to try and secure a long-term financial commitment from both the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario. The sooner funding is secured and the work started, the sooner we can all benefit.

The Yonge North Subway Extension is the top transit priority of York Region and has been identified as a priority next wave project by Metrolinx. It will help York Region keep up with the tremendous growth in population, it will improve the environment by virtually eliminating the 2,500 daily bus trips now required to service this section of Yonge Street, and it will drive economic growth and job creation.

To realize the tremendous benefits of this subway extension, Federal and Provincial funding partners need to know that individuals and families have made this a personal priority. All residents and employers are being encouraged to show their support and sign this petition. By getting on board now, you will help drive this project further down the track, faster.
