OnRichmondhill.com is committed to encouraging civic engagement, and that includes providing  information to help its subscribers elect good representatives.

Technology seems to want to challenge this and the earlier newsletter did not show the YouTube videos. The YouTube links have been added and this is being resent.  Apologies are extended for filling your inbox.  Please consider sharing/forwarding this to those you know who can vote in the Richmond Hill ridings.

Marj Andre, Director of OnRichmondhill.com, facilitates a weekly group, Connecting the Community.  The candidates from both the Richmond Hill riding and the Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill riding, from the NDP, Conservative and Liberal parties gave a short presentation at the meetings. The candidates for the Green Party and Kyle Bowles from the Animal Alliance Environment Voters Party have not been in the riding and hence were not included.

These are not professionally recorded but they do give a glimpse as to who the candidates are.

Consider circulating this information to others you know who may need help in deciding who to vote for.

OnRichmondhill.com asked each candidate to respond to these 6 questions:

  1. Richmond Hill is one of the fastest growing communities in Canada. What is your vision for Richmond Hill in 2025, and what projects need to be implemented and investments made here?

  2. With an aging population putting increasing stress on the health care system, what specific initiatives would your party adopt to insure a strong, efficient and cost-effective health care system for all Canadians in the future? If we truly have universal health care should Canadians be covered for out of province and out of country emergency health care?

  3. What would your party do to develop Canada's energy resources while ensuring environmental protection?

  4. How specifically would you like to see the Senate reformed? What is one positive thing that the Senate has done recently you would like to highlight? What is one negative thing that the Senate has done recently you would like to highlight?

  5. How should the issue of the 1200+ missing and murdered Indigenous women be handled?

  6. What are your party’s strategies to lower the rate of unemployment, especially among youth?

Please read their responses below.
