We will have a regular Connecting the Community meeting. Same time, same place. 9 am to 11 am at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts.
Please bring business cards and promotional materials.
If there is something new that you are doing please let me know.
I did want to make sure you knew that Tuesday night's CTC event at the Theatre was a success. Over $2100 was raised for Hill House Hospice. It was a great community effort!
For this week and next (December 6 and 13th) we will be collecting PERSONAL CARE ITEMS (not food items) for the local Richmond Hill Food Bank. I will often say, "if you don't have money for a can of beans, you're not buying deodorant."
Here is a list of suggested items:
- Bars of soap
- Body wash
- Shampoo, conditioner
- Feminine hygiene products
- Body lotion
- Toilet paper
If you have any unopened travel size items, they are welcomed.
I will sort through the items and take them to the Food Bank the next day. It is the case that a family can only visit the Food Bank once a month and get a 2 to 3 day supply. I would like to see there be a stock of items for the months to come.
Please give what you can.
Secondly, Connecting the Community will be manning a Salvation Army Christmas Kettle at Hillcrest Mall on Monday December 19th, from 12:30 to 9 pm. PLEASE consider donating an hour of your time. Email me if you are interested and what times you would be available. Click here for more information about this program.
There will be a Christmas break for Connecting the Community. There are no meetings Dec. 20 and 27th. We'll resume on January 3rd.
There is lots to do in Town this weekend. Click here for the long list.
