Happy New Year: Nowrūz meaning "[The] New Day") is widely referred to as the "Persian New Year". Nowrūz is celebrated by all Persians and many others throught the world, including Centarl Asia, Caucasus, South Asia, Northwestern China, the Crimea and the Balkans. Nowrūz marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the year in Iranian calendar. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox, which usually occurs on March 21 depending on where it is observed. The moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year and families gather to celebrate.

Nowrūz  is also considered a Zoroastrian holiday and is widely celebrated by the followers of the Bahá'í Faith throughout the world and it marks the first day of the Bahá'í Calendar.
