Here we go. We made it. Tomorrow night is Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. There's no longer stretch of darkness than that which is served up tomorrow night. Then the Sun comes back. Just a little earlier in the morning and stays just a little longer at night. You can't beat sunshine.
As I think about the time that has elapsed since last Winter Solstice, I think about a few victories and a few disappointments. I think about the wonderful times I have had with friends, hugs with my family and awesome scenes that nature shows me. I think about the goals I didn't meet and the friends I made along the way. I recognize the stories that I have that have changed me slightly. I am a different person than I was last year at this time. Hopefully a better person, wiser I would like to think, more patient my family would like me to recognize. All because of the places I have traveled and the things I have done.
So why not. I don't always get what I want but maybe I get to learn a little more along the way. Once more round the Sun!
See you on St. Clair!
